Lindquist commits to Bethel University

#10 Matt Lindquist

Hudson Crusaders forward Matt Lindquist (Thief River Falls, MN) has committed to Bethel University in the MIAC for the 2012-13 season.  Lindquist began the season playing for the Minot Minotauros in the NAHL before being traded to the Crusaders midway through January.

"Matt was a huge pick up for us at that point of the season." said Head Coach Ted Urschel.  "Up until then we had been struggling to find some chemistry and leadership but Matt gave us a legitimate 1st line center and great locker room guy to help finish our season strong."

Linquist was able to score 5 goals and 11 assists for 16 points in the 11 regular season games he played.  He also led the Crusaders in playoff scoring with 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points in 5 playoff games.

"Matt was a valuable part of our team while he was here." said Urschel.  "Honestly if he were here from the start of the season he would have had a captain's patch on his jersey.  He was a great leader for the younger guys and that comes from understanding how to play the game the right way.  Coach Burgraff and the entire Bethel team is getting a great guy that will be able to step right in and contribute to their team."

Lindquist is the 1st Crusader to commit to a college program from the 2011-12 Crusader team.
